Geolocation Update

1. Proceed to website - https://larus.net/ipv4/login
2. Login using your registered Email address and Password in LARUS (click forget password if forgotten password)
3. From “IP Management” > "Managed Leased IPs column click “Actions (3 dots)” > "View"
4. From “Action” column, select “Create Route Object” on geo location you wish to update
5. After created route object, go back and, select “view”
6. From Geofeed column, select “view”
6. Key in IP address for Geofeed verification.
Notes:
(i) Please make sure IP address already been announced.
(ii) Enter the IP address that can be traced to the route, as our system verified by tracking the IP entered by the customer. If the entered IP cannot be traced, the verification will fail and the update cannot be made.
7. “Verification successful” will displayed
8. Once verification successful, we will update the IP to the official Geofeed list of LARUS. The third-party database will read our geofeed update the geolocation accordingly. Usually, third-party databases are updated every week but in some special case such as ip2location are updated at the end of each month, maxmind is updated about 2 weeks.
9. If Geofeed verification failed - “location positioning failed. Please verify, you may apply for manual review” message will display.
10.You may click on “Please request manual review” if you confirm the IP announced is correct and message “Manual review in progress” will display once completed.
Knowledge Statement:
1. Most of the IP address locations in Whois database is not accurate as ISP never updates IP location and NRI is unable to know the location of IP address being used.
2. Propriety IP geolocation databases with Geofeed namely MaxMind / ipbase / IP2location and etc will test IP location based on technology opinions and IP probes.
3. IP geolocation databases provider will lease this information to IP service providers
4. IP Service provider will then provide accurate information and data to customer based on tagged location
